Shoals MTB is made of a group of trail users from all disciplines: trail runners, cyclists, and hikers. We come from different backgrounds, but share a passion for the outdoors and preserving the trails we love.
Our amazing community works together to #maketrailsbetter, and the Shoals MTB Chapter has taken on the responsibility of maintaining and developing the trails in the Shoals. Our team of dedicated volunteers spends countless hours maintaining and improving the trails, ensuring they're safe and enjoyable for everyone.
We are partners with local city and county governments and municipalities, Federal entities such as National Parks and Forests, as well as State entities such as State Parks and State Lands.
Our goal is to help the outdoor recreational community thrive and develop more opportunities for all types of trail users.
Shoals MTB is a member-supported, nonprofit organization of volunteer mountain bikers advocating for mountain biking in Northwestern Alabama by building and maintaining sustainable connections with our communities. We promote and expand the benefits of mountain biking throughout the region, fostering an inclusive and diverse community of riders and trail enthusiasts.
Driven by the passion of riders, we aim to provide exceptional recreational opportunities that benefit individuals and the communities we serve — creating lasting experiences for members and guests while promoting the sport and preserving the natural environment for generations to come.
More access to mountain bike trails that are open, inclusive, and accessible to all.
We create new, high-quality, and sustainable singletrack.
We repair, modify, and serve as stewards of existing mountain bike trails.
We connect riders, businesses, nonprofits, and government partners to improve our local communities.
We promote responsible trail use to increase participation and stewardship of the landscape.
We protect the rider experience for non-motorized trail use, in concert with environmental stewardship and improved accessibility.
Our volunteer board members organize the workdays, secure the partnerships, and keep the club rolling — then get out and ride like everyone else.
Want to get more involved in leading the club? Reach out — we'd love to talk.
